Cengage Learning Australia, publisher and distributor of award-winning innovative textbook and technology products for the schools and higher education market in Australia and New Zealand, and other key export markets, is seeking an enthusiastic Permissions Research Manager to join their successful Media and Production Services team.

Reporting to the Media Production Services Manager, the position is responsible for managing all rights and permissions activities across the school and higher education publishing divisions, including all internal and external resources.

Your responsibilities will also include:
•    establishing the permissions costs of all components outlined in publishing proposals
•    assigning and scheduling projects
•    ensuring that all image, text and research permissions are completed on time and to budget
•    supervising two direct reports and a number of freelance permissions researchers
•    sourcing, recommending and implementing new technology solutions
•    leading Cengage Learning permissions workflows and collaborating with international Cengage permissions teams on key initiatives

You must be able to demonstrate:
•    extensive knowledge of copyright law and industry best practices
•    proven supervisory experience including leading, motivating and developing teams
•    excellent presentation and reporting skills
•    proven competency in managing budgets
•    strong technology orientation and experience with electronic products and services
•    knowledge of database and spreadsheet applications
•    project management skills
•    the ability to develop relationships
•    problem solving skills
